Meiringspoort is closed for repairs after the May floods, and is expected to reopen once roadworks are complete. De Rust is still fully accessible via the R341 from Oudtshoorn, and the town is open for business. Come and see the Klein Karoo while it's quiet, and support a small dorp that has been here a long time.

Our classic local bar offers small-town charm like no other. Pull up a chair on the stoep, order something cold, and let the Karoo do the rest. The Grill is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with dinner served from 17:00 to 20:00. Come and enjoy some of the best home-cooked meals Klein Karoo has to offer.

De Rust has more to do than your average small town. The first-ever Sip n Paint in De Rust, hosted by Bernadette at the Hotel, attracted travellers from all over. The event turned out to be a joyous afternoon. Book your own session for groups of 20 or more, at R350 per person; Bernadette will be sure to host.
